Concept: ACORN BLASTER

The Acorn Blaster has a chance of spawning when a Robot-Virus Germ is allowed to settle into the ground. It’s a small spherical ranged weapon that tracks the players position and fires fast moving projectiles. Because it remains nestled halfway underground, it’s most vulnerable when shot from directly above.

Theoretical Features:

  • Spawned randomly from the Robot-Virus Germ
  • Rapid fire projectile
  • Small, difficult target to hit. Best destroyed with precision weaponry
  • AI driven aiming

Concept: DEATH ROOTS

Another possible tree mutation, Death Roots violently shoot upward catching careless heroes in a spikey trap of doom. Their exact behavior is TBD. Do they spring up one root at atime? Do they constantly pop up and down “whack-a-mole” style? Can they be destroyed?

Theoretical Features:

  • Surprise Attack
  • Melee Damage
  • Possible Electrocution Damage
  • Dynamic Root-Spike Generation/Animation

Concept: TAGSAW FLOWERS

The happy glow of the “Tag Flowers” (title pending) morphs into a terrifying sight upon robot-zombification. The flowers start to spin erratically creating a frightening illuminated saw of death. As if compelled by some an unknown intelligence, the tag saw stretches and leans towards nearby heroes making them very scary.

Theoretical Features:

  • Light emitting. Pretty.
  • Sparks on contact.
  • Extremely deadly.
  • Requires each flower petal to be shot individually before it becomes completely incapacitated.
  • Can be incapacitated with “slowing” or “biological” weapons.
  • Reaches toward player… Like a magnet.

Concept: BRADBERRY BUSH

A seemingly harmless shrub in its natural state, the Bradberry Bush swells into a volatile blob of poison gas sacks upon infection. If touched or shot, the sacks explode releasing their harmful contents.

Theoretical Features:

  • Swelling, pulsing and glowing animation.
  • Explodes on even the smallest contact.
  • Poison gas causes damage over time or a debilitating debuff (slow, loss of weapon, loss of aiming control, etc.)

Concept: DEATH DRILL

The Death Drill disseminates surprise destruction from below. Not only is it incredibly sharp, it’s also electrified and spinning for added badness. It can be disabled through brute force.

Theoretical Features:

  • Melee Damage
  • Spawned when a “Germ” is allowed to sink into unoccupied ground.
  • Can be disabled or broken with direct damage. When disabled, the top is broken off and it’s no longer electrified.

Concept: ROTATOR TREE

The Rotator Tree, once infected, splits horizontally across the trunk and furiously spins its top half. While in motion, its branches are transformed into horrible whipping instruments that damages enemies and allies alike.

Theoretical Features:

  • Indestructable?
  • Clockwise Spinning launches players backwards
  • Possible varying speeds – Slow trees can be dodged, fast trees must be avoided.
  • Can be used to damage or destroy enemy units.
